01
The short answer
Your Social Janitor account can be used to sign in on another supported device, but browser-stored snapshots do not automatically travel with the account.
Use a portable backup if you want to move supported local Social Janitor data between browsers.
02
What happens to your Social Janitor account?
Pro access is linked to your Social Janitor account rather than permanently to one Instagram profile or one browser.
Your sign-in and subscription records are handled online separately from the Instagram snapshots stored locally in a browser.
03
What happens to local snapshots?
Imported snapshots, comparisons and cleanup choices are stored on the device where you created them. Changing devices or browsers does not automatically synchronize that history.
If you open Social Janitor on another browser without restoring a backup, that browser may not contain your previous local snapshot history.
04
What is a portable Social Janitor backup?
Pro users can export a readable JSON backup containing locally stored snapshots, Keep/Reviewed decisions and private account notes.
The backup is created locally in your browser and downloaded to a location you choose. Social Janitor does not receive or store a copy as part of that process.
05
Can you restore the backup on another browser?
Yes. A supported portable backup can be restored and merged in another supported browser while you are signed in to the same Social Janitor account.
Existing snapshots with the same internal identifier are kept, and the newer version of each saved decision is used when applicable.

06
How should you protect a portable backup?
The portable backup is readable JSON and is not encrypted by Social Janitor. Store it somewhere secure and delete copies you no longer need.
